Fly Fish Texas is an event put on by the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, Texas. Athens is southeast of the Dallas metroplex.

This year’s event takes place March 7th. All activities are free with regular paid admission.
Regular admission is $5.50 for adults, $4.50 for seniors 65 and older, and $3.50 for children ages 4 through 12. Pets are not allowed on TFFC grounds. Season passes valid for the calendar year in which they are purchased are available for $15 for adults, $12.50 for seniors and $8.00 for children. Season pass holders are eligible for a 10 percent discount in the gift shop.
While seasoned fly-fisherman will certainly be interested in this event, it’s geared towards the beginner fly-fisherman. Youth classes for those aged 6-18 will be taught by Bill Sergeant and other members of the Dallas Fly-Fishers. Each classroom attendee will receive basic fly-fishing certification.
Instruction includes fly casting, fly tying and knot tying. Casting instruction for the beginner as well as for the advanced angler.
