What do you do with a project boat that’s been a project boat for, ‘ahem’ over a decade?
What if the relative at whose house you’re storing it at would love the space back?
What if, to make matters worse, a storm causes a large tree to fall on the boat?
You get rid of it!
You offer it for sale on Craigslist as a project boat, really really cheap.
No takers.
You pull it around to the front yard while you host a garage sale and put a $100 sign on it.
No takers.
On the second day of the garage sale you change the sign to free.
Hmmmm, people at least glance in that direction now. But for most people, most people can SEE the amount of work involved in getting ‘that’ boat back into the water. Shoot the trailer ought to be worth something.
Then it happens, a mother and two teenage daughters show up and say, “Really? It’s free?”
And then you hear the sweetest words, “I’ll take it!!”
After a lot of backing, and some hammering (motor wouldn’t lift) they pulled out and drove away with their own ‘project boat’.
