NWTF 35th Convention – Nashville

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

Is your family passionate about hunting and the outdoors? The upcoming National Wild Turkey Federation’s 35th annual National Convention and Sport Show is the ultimate place for your family to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle before spring hunting season!

To highlight the importance of passing on our outdoor traditions to the next generation, the theme of this year’s NWTF convention is “Our Youth. Our Legacy.” The convention, which will take place Feb. 18 to Feb. 20 in Nashville at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, is one of the largest gatherings of hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts in North America. More than 40,000 people, including many families, are expected to attend.

The three-day event, sponsored by MidwayUSA, features a giant sport show that is larger than four football fields and loaded with the latest hunting and outdoor gear!

Families who attend will find no shortage of activities for people of all ages, starting with “The Roost,” the center for families in the sport show exhibit hall. Youth can try archery, air guns, casting and fishing, and even watch presentations with live animals. By completing a variety of conservation education activities, each child can earn a collectible patch. Smokey Bear and Jake, the NWTF’s mascot, will be available for photos and high-fives.

A general admission pass is all that’s required to access the sport show, “The Roost,” the Grand National Turkey Calling Championships and seminars taught by professional hunters and land managers.

For the first time, NWTF members and active-duty military personnel will receive a free general admission pass. Remember to bring your NWTF membership card or military I.D. for easy admission.

Non-members may join the NWTF for just $30 and get a three-day general admission pass and subscription to the NWTF’s Turkey Country magazine. A three-day pass and JAKES membership costs just $10 for youth ages 11 to 17. Children ages 10 and under are free.

Land & Wildlife Expo at the Gaylord Opryland August 12-14, 2011
Nashville, Tennessee

Interest in the stewardship, conservation and care of our natural resources has grown dramatically in recent years. It’s a commitment shared by conservationists, hunters, sportsmen, farmers, ranchers and property owners alike. For the first time ever, the Land & Wildlife Expo brings the major conservation organizations and wildlife experts together to educate landowners on practices, programs, and opportunities to enhance their property for wildlife. And the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Hotel is the ideal host for such an important exhibition.

Learn from the experts: Mossy Oak True North Seminar Summit

The True North Seminar Summit offers landowners, land managers, sportsmen and conservationists a unique educational event like no-other. Held in conjunction with the Land & Wildlife Expo, the True North Seminar Summit features educational seminars by the nation’s leading biologists, conservation groups, education institutions and agencies. Attendees can choose individual seminars or can select a multi-seminar “track,” consisting of a series of themed seminars on a specific conservation interest or wildlife category. Individual seminar topics range from land ownership, habitat creation and management, wildlife management, and access to various government and conservation agency programs.

Learn more about the seminar topics and the expert speakers below or call 877.433.3976 to register.

The uniqueness of the Land & Wildlife Expo makes it an incredible opportunity for exhibitor participations to target affluent customers and outdoor enthusiasts. Exhibitor space is still available at this time. All exhibitors will be located in one of eight themed “villages,” representing specific categories of wildlife, terrain or conservation interest. With this exhibition floor concept, exhibitors will have access to property owners (100+ acres), professional land managers, conservationists, outdoor enthusiasts and hunters. No other event offers you exposure to this kind of affluent, committed consumer. Likely exhibitor categories include outdoor sporting retailers, conservation organizations, sporting goods manufacturers, agricultural suppliers, farm and ranch equipment, land management groups, hunting-related products, to name just a few. If your customers are affluent landowners, managers, hunters or conservationists, you don’t want to miss this opportunity to meet face-to-face.

If you’re fishing and get caught fishing without a fishing license you typically get a ticket (fine) and have to give up your catch.

People in Nashville that get caught fishing without a license, and don’t have proper identification, can get put in jail. Illegal immigrants can also be deported.

Since 07, 820 people have been cited for fishing without a license (Nashville) and out of that 820 people, 27 were illegal immigrants.

I guess the point is, don’t go fishing without your wallet!
