The Mississippi Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo is moving back to Gulfport.

The annual fishing event began over sixty years ago by the Jaycees and the American Legion Post 119 out of Gulfport. For over half a century the annual fishing tourney was held at Jones Park. Hurricanes practically destroyed the park in 2005 and now the park is ready for the return of the occasion.

The fishing rodeo, held on the Fourth of July, features fishing competitions, salt and freshwater and around 5,000 people show up for the annual affair.
