Big Hard Drive

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

What if, you were compiling a huge cookbook of fish recipes on your laptop? Or maybe you were taking a large high definition photo of every single fish you caught for a future coffee table book? Or you’re writing the great American novel while at fish camp? Or selling fishing gear online?

Whatever you’re doing, you want to make certain that you have backup. There’s no telling what could happen to your computer. (Think Griswalds going fishing! LOL)

The answer? BACKUP! You need backup! You can never have enough backup! Yes, it’s redundant – that’s the point!
Redundant systems can save all your work. Check out a 500gb hard drive for your important files!

Lake Arcadia

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Lake Arcadia is a water supply lake located just north of Oklahoma City. The lake is on the smaller side, 1820 acres and is fed by Deep Fork River and some small creeks.

The bass aren’t plentiful at Lake Arcadia but they sure seem to be sizable. At this lake 14″ largemouth are the legal limit. The lake record, a 12 lb’r was caught in the 90′s.

Because of the large amount of silt in the lake, the lake doesn’t have the vegetation lake planners had hoped for. Resulting new fish are then easy prey, resulting in more ‘bigger’ fish.

Ace of Spades

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

OK, so I’m a little late in sharing…. Last year, the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife reported that the ELUSIVE “Ace of Spades” was brought down by Ronny Lambeth with a bow.

Mr Ace of Spades had 23 scoreable points with an inside spread of 26 3/4 inches. He was 8 1/2 and weight 186.

Lambeth reported he watched the deer for a good half hour before getting an ackward shot at 8 yards.

Ace was captured as part of a controlled hunt through ODWC.

You can sign up for next years drawings to be able to hunt in one of the annual controlled hunts on department or governmental land across Oklahoma at www.wildlifedepartment.com

San Diego

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Ever consider vacationing in beautiful San Diego? Actually I hadn’t either until I had a friend that vacationed there. She loved it! Her pictures were gorgeous and you could just tell that this place (for her) was a dream come true.

The red tile rooflines, the trolleys and the fishing piers on the harbor conjure up an inner vision of the peace and beauty found in San Diego.

Just one visit is all it will take for you to become so persuaded by the local atmosphere that you’ll be ready to pack up your whole family and move. But in the meantime, you can vacation with the best of them, soaking up that California sunshine.

Plan your trip and don’t stay in those cheap motels that line the interstates, get yourself a real place. The california vacation rentals can range from local, san diego property management to Pacific Beach Vacation Rentals on the beach. What fisherman wouldn’t love a vacation spot ‘on’ the beach?!!

Enjoy your time in San Diego. Don’t spend the ‘whole’ time fishing away. Visit the Point Loma Lighthouse and the farmers markets and the museums. (Museums are free on Tuesdays!)

Oh, and while you’re there, you must make time to eat the famous chicken pot pie. It’s a San Diego tradition.

Sittin’ on the dock of the bay
watchin’ the tide roll away.
